Tamara Babun to be on Executive Committee of International Federation of Film Producers Associations

Croatian producer Tamara Babun has been invited to join the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF, Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films) for a two-year mandate.

'Croatian producers association (HRUP) has been a member of the FIAPF for a number of years. In the last few years, the HRUP has established excellent cooperation with the colleagues from the FIAPF on the issues common to all film producers in the member states, in recent times mostly regarding the new EU directives. Furthermore, the FIAPF has demonstrated unreserved support to Croatian producers in the period of the greatest crisis of the film financing system. Prior to this year’s meeting in Cannes, the FIAPF has received nominations for the Executive Committee from its members. So, the Board of Directors of the HRUP nominated me and that nomination was accepted. My engagement will, most surely, involve an even more regular communication between the HRUP and the FIAPF and continuation as well as more intensive work on the issues of mutual interest.', said Tamara Babun on this occasion.

The International Federation of Film Producers Association (FIAPF) was founded in 1933 and it gathers 34 organizations from 27 countries around the world. The aim is to represent joint economic, legal and regulatory interests of film and TV productions on five continents on which they act. Therefore, among other things, the FIAPF helps create policies and coordinate actions in relation to statutory provisions regulating protection of copyright and intellectual property rights, development of digital technologies and their influence on the values of the audiovisual sector, media regulation, trade matters and other issues of importance for the entire industry. In addition, the FIAPF is involved in accrediting and regulating international film festivals. Since 2009, Luis Alberto Scalella has been the president of this International Federation.
