Petar Milat, HRFF director, in prestigious Oberhausen jury

Petar Milat, director of the Human Rights Film Festival, will be a member of this year’s Oberhausen Film Festival international jury. The festival will take place in May, 2018.

The invitation arrived from Lark Henrik Gass, Oberhausen festival director, who was a recent guest in Zagreb at 25FPS, and who was intrigued by our publications issued by our Multimedia Institute within our Visual Edition (especially ‘Modern Times by Jacques Rancière, which we presented last year in Brussels, Montreal, New York and Amsterdam). With that in mind, I believe that participating in this year’s jury is only the start of a future collaboration with this festival,’ said Milat.

The 64th International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen is one of the most prestigious global film festivals with a special focus on innovative film approach.

Petar Milat is a philosopher and lead coordinator at the Multimedia Institute. He coordinates the Institute’s film, music, and publishing programmes. He has been the Human Rights Film Festival director since 2008. The nexus of normative society and esthetic theory are at the core of his research.
