Kinorama secures funds for development of three projects

Creative Europe Desk – MEDIA Office has announced results regarding subsidies intended for slate funding, for which the Croatian production house Kinorama ltd. secured funds for three projects in the amount of 73 000 EUR.  Furthermore, results have been announced for the festival support where four domestic film festivals have secured MEDIA Subprogram funds totaling 127 000 EUR.

The production company Kinorama ltd has succeeded in securing funds totaling 73 000 EUR for the development of three projects: Comic Sans written and directed by Nevio Marasović, The Mystery of Green Hill directed by Čejen Černić and written by Hana Jušić, as well as The Staffroom directed and written by Sonja Tarokić.  This is the second set of funds for slate funding which has been awarded to Kinorama ltd, but the first within the framework of the Creative Europe Program – Subprogram MEDIA.  Although the stringent conditions require more detailed applications, Croatia has found itself on the list of approved projects along with 19 other countries.

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) rated the projects in the following way: “The application unifies the development of three projects each of which present extreme quality and creative potential as well as their visual and stylistic differences.  The production company possesses professional experience on a European and international level, while the competence and capabilities of the creative team guarantee the simultaneous development of all three projects.”

Furthermore, within the framework of the first deadline and two-year subsidy, Croatian festivals secured funds from Subprogram MEDIA totaling 127 000 EUR.  Avantura Film Forum Zadar received 20 000 EUR, Animafest Zagreb 25 000 EUR, while the Motovun and Zagreb Film Festivals received 41 000 EUR each.

Moreover, adding funds awarded on the basis of festival support means that Croatian users have managed to secure a total of 200 000 EUR.  If we add the said total to this year’s results (90 000 EUR for single project development and 39 200 EUR for selective distribution) the total to-date funds reaches 329 000 EUR.
