Judita Gamulin’s Marica at 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival - Future Frames platform

European Film Promotion has selected Judita Gamulin and her film Marica to participate in the Future Frames platform taking place during the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The program will take place from July 1st to 4th, while the festival will open on June 29th and will run until July 7th, 2018.

10 film school students and graduates will have the opportunity to present their works at the Future Frames platform organised by European Film Promotion during the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Selected works are award-winning films by young directors from across Europe. During the program, which will take place from July 1st to 4th, these young filmmakers will present their works to an international audience, industry experts and the media. Among the 10 selected is Marica, a film by Judita Gamulin. The film is produced by Marina Jurišić (Academy of Dramatic Arts, Zagreb) with support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre. Marica is a film about a middle-aged housekeeper who has decided to leave her family. This year, the film screened at the Short Film Corner platform which took place during the Cannes Film Festival. Gamulin’s short film Flowers (2016) was an American Film Academy Student Oscar finalist.

Along with screening their films in the Future Frames platform at this prestigious Czech festival, selected filmmakers will attend master classes and networking meetings with film experts. The European Film Promotion initiative is supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe – MEDIA Program and all European film centres and agencies who are members of the EFP.
