Hedgehog’s Home nominated for an ‘Annie’

Eva Cvijanović’s film is nominated in the short film category, and the ceremony for America’s highest honour in animation, the 45th ‘Annie’ Awards, will be held on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018, in Royce Hall at UCLA, in Los Angeles.

ASIFA-Hollywood, a branch of the International Animated Film Society Los Angeles, has been awarding Annie awards since 1972. In its early years, the Annie honoured lifetime achievement, but since 1992 has expanded to award the best productions and individual achievements in animation.

This year, Eva Cvijanović’s film Hedgehog’s Home, a minority Croatian co-production (Croatian co-producer – Bonobostudio) is competing for an Annie in the short animated film category. The nominees also include: Dear Basketball by veteran animator Glen Keane and Los Angeles Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant, Negative Space produced by IKKI Films and Manuel Cam Studio, Scavengers produced by Titmouse, Inc. and Adult Swim, and Son of Jaguar directed by Jorge Gutiérrez and produced by Google Spotlight Stories.

The incredible success of Hedgehog’s Home’s Annie nomination is highlighted by the fact that this year the most nominations went to Dream Works (22), Disney (18) and Pixar (15). Winners will be announced at the 45th Annie Awards ceremony taking place at Royce Hall, UCLA, on Saturday, February 3rd, 2018, in Los Angeles.
