Eurimages to support one majority and two minority Croatian co-productions

The Managing Board of the European co-production fund Eurimages, during its 151st meeting held from June 18th to 22nd in Montreal, has agreed to support a total of 30 feature European film co-productions. Among them are three Croatian projects: The Dawn, a majority co-production (Croatia-Italy) by Dalibor Matanić has been granted €190 000 in support, along with two minority co-productions – The Son by Ines Tanović, a Bosnian & Herzegovinian-Slovenian-Croatian co-production will receive €125 000, and the film The Barefoot Emperor by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, a Belgian-Dutch-Bulgarian-Croatian co-production, will receive support in the amount of €250 000.

Dalibor Matanić’s feature film The Dawn is produced by Kinorama. The Croatian co-producer of The Son, a Bosnian & Herzegovinian-Slovenian-Croatian co-production directed by Ines Tanović, is Spiritus Movens.

The Belgian-Dutch-Bulgarian-Croatian co-production The Barefoot Emperor is by Belgian director Peter Brosens and American director Jessica Woodworth. The Croatian co-producer is Propeler Film.

A total of €565 000 has been granted to the three Croatian co-productions by the Managing Board of Eurimages.

Within the Eurimages Strategy for Gender Equality, whose aim is to create a balance in the number of applications and grants to both male and female applicants, has, at the 151st meeting, granted 32% of the total support to projects with female directors.
