Dubravka Turić’s Rhino at 2019 Torino Film Lab workshop
Dubravka Turić’s feature film project is one of 20 projects accepted into the Script Lab workshop for scripts at an early development stage.
‘Getting into the Torino Film Lab is really important for me, because it is an excellent workshop that, besides offering expert support in project development, is the best platform for its international visibility,’ said Dubravka Turić.
The feature project Rhino, for which Turić is both the writer and director, is a comedy of the absurd that follows the story of three friends and their search for a rhino’s horn to sell on the Asian black market.
The Script Lab workshop is for debut feature projects and for those writers who have already made one feature film. The programme consists of three workshops, each a week long, as well as two online sessions.
The first workshop will take place from March 18th to 24th in Greece, the second in the second half of June at a yet to be determined location, while the third will take place during the Torino Film Lab Meeting from November 19th to 24th. In this final module, participants will present their projects to international audiences which include producers, agents, and other film professionals. Participants will also have one-on-one meetings with key industry pros.
The authors will develop their projects with a series of professionals: scriptwriters Nadja Dumouchel (France), Maria Solrun (Iceland), and Rasmus Horskjær (Denmark), as well as story editors Franz Rodenkirchen and Françoise von Roy (Germany).

Dubravka Turić has a degree in Film and TV Editing from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb (1998). She’s the author of three short films: Belladonna, a film that premiered at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival; Cherries, which had its world premiere last year in the ‘Authors’ Fortnight’ programme in Cannes; and Tina which is currently being prepared for festival distribution. Before working on her own projects, Turić had edited more than 20 feature, experimental and animated films, as well as over 200 TV commercials.
