Anita Juka selected to participate in Producers on the Move platform in Cannes

European Film Promotion has selected Croatian producer Anita Juka to participate in Producers on the Move - a platform for European producers on the rise, who have, to date, produced noteworthy European co-productions. The platform is taking place during the Cannes International Film Festival, and Juka is one of 20 selected.

European Film Promotion, the organisation which gathers national film centres and promotional agencies from 38 European countries, each year selects 20 producers, based on their already recognized projects and international co-productions, to participate in the Producers on the Move platform.

Anita Juka was selected based on her large opus of productions and her work on the award-winning feature films You Carry Me (Ivona Juka), Here (Zrinko Ogresta), A Call Girl (Damjan Kozole), as well as the international omnibus Some Other Stories (Ivona Juka, Ana Marija Rossi, Ines Tanović, Marija Džidževa and Hanna Slak). She’s also stood out with her documentary productions Facing the Day (Ivona Juka), Bad Blue Boys (Branko Schmidt) and Blue Rose Garden (Mladen Santrić).

Producers on the Move, taking place during the 72nd Cannes Film Festival from May 14th to 25th, is a networking platform with the goal of promoting European film co-productions. Participants can expect lectures, workshops, pitching sessions and ‘one-on-one’ meetings with film experts. They will also have the opportunity for promotional space in international industry publications.

Since its founding, more than 400 producers have participated in the programme, many of which went on to become internationally renowned film professionals, even Oscar winners. Last year, Croatian producer Oliver Sertić participated in the program. Producers on the Move is organized by EFP and Creative Europe – MEDIA Program.

European Film Promotion goals are too connect national film centres and promotion agencies from 38 countries across Europe to collaborate on projects and initiatives, highlighting both European films and film talents across the globe. The Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC) has been a full-fledged member since January, 2009. A full list of member countries is available here.

Along with Anita Juka, 19 other producers will participate in the platform. A full list of participants is available at the EFP’s official website.
