In spring 1988, hunters find a small boy living with wolves in the Bosnian mountains. He is randomly named Haris and sent to the central Yugoslav orphanage in Belgrade. From a wild beast, over the years, Haris transforms into a civilised boy. However, war interrupts this fragile process of socialisation. In spring 1992, Yugoslavia is gone and the social services of the newly established state want the boy sent home – where war is about to break out.
