Four Croatian animated films in Official Selection of Annecy 2010

Veljko Popović's My Way
Four Croatian animated films – Veljko Popović's and Svjetlan Junaković's My Way, Marko Meštrović's No Sleep Won't Kill You, Michaele Müller's Miramare and Joško Marušić's The Rainbow have been selected for the Official Program of the 50th International Animation Film Festival in Annecy, France. My Way and No Sleep Won't Kill You will be shown in Short films Official Selection program, Miramare in Graduation films Official Selection program and The Rainbow Out of Competition program.

Marko Meštrović's No Sleep Won't Kill You
My Way, produced by Bold Studio from Zagreb, tells a story of growing up and the maturing of anxiety and ambition illustrated through a tale of shoes. Popović's first film She Who Measures won FIPRESCI Award at Annecy in 2008. Meštrović's film, produced by Kreativni sindikat and Zagreb Film, deals with dreams which take control over reality. Miramare, produced by the Academy of Fine Arts and Zagreb Film, follows the life on the borders of Europe, where tourists try to relax while "illegal" immigrants are struggling to forge a better life for themselves. Animated feature film The Rainbow was produced by Riblje oko from Zagreb is inspired by two short stories by the Croatian turn of the century writer Dinko Šimunović: The Rainbow and Horseman.

Michaele Müller's Miramare
International Film Festival in Annecy is the world's largest event dedicated to animation. It was created in 1960 and this year it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
