Introduction
Croatia may be a small country but it has a remarkably vibrant film industry. It has an abundance of spectacular, unspoilt locations and exceptional local talent both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes.
Our relatively modest domestic annual film output is currently attracting a lot of interest abroad. In the past few years, Croatian films have been well received at some of the world’s leading film festivals: Berlin, Venice, Karlovy Vary, London, Tribeca, Montreal and Annecy.
There has been good news on the home front too. Thanks to a number of recent domestic box-office hits, Croatian audiences now have a renewed appetite for, and interest in, locally produced films.
