In July 2007 the Croatian Parliament passed a new Film Act to help foster Croatia's audiovisual industry and in January 2008 the Croatian Audiovisual Centre opened its doors. Vlatka Vorkapić's romantic comedy Sonja and the Bull hit the top place at Croatian box offices in the past week. The film has already been seen by 31,222 viewers and in the first two weeks of theatre distribution it grossed 849,223 kuna.
