Game of Thrones Season Five Premieres; Crew Praises Croatia

Before the exclusive premiere of the new, fifth, season of the cult TV show Game of Thrones, HBO Adria published a video in which the crew of this popular serial speaks about their experience in filming in Croatia in the past three years. Season five will be broadcast in Croatia on 13 April at 20:05 – at the same time as other 170 countries across the world.

The cult serial and global TV phenomenon, Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin’s bestselling fantasy novel Song of Ice and Fire, is an epic tale of betrayal and nobility set in Westeros, a continent where summers and winters can take years and only lust for power is eternal. HBO’s most viewed serial of all times was shot on countless locations in Croatia over three years and won Emmy, Golden Globe and Peabody awards.

The first episode of Game of Thrones V between 13 April and 11 May will be available free of charge to all Croatian viewers through a VOD internet service HBO GO. After shocking deaths in season four (Joffrey, Tywin, Oberyn, Shae), season five begins with an empty spot on the top. Protagonists all over Westeros and Essos are trying to fill it as fast as they can. This season also features some of the most explosive scenes so far, and the promise that ‘winter is coming’ becomes a threat larger than ever before. Besides, 10 new episodes also bring new interesting plots which will unravel all until their inevitable, often bloodthirsty finale.

The executive producers are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Deolgeri and Bernardette Caulfield; co-executive producers are Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin; and producers are Chris Newman, Greg Spence, Lisa McAtackney and Bryan Cogman.
