Croatian applicants receive 161 000 EUR from MEDIA Sub-Programme
On Tuesday, Creative Europe Desk – MEDIA Office announced the results of the second round of applications for single projects and festivals, as well as capacity building and training. Croatian applicants received a total of 161 000 EUR in this round of applications.
In the Single Project Development category the following qualified for funding: the feature animated film Before You Wake – Discover Tesla’s Secret Invention produced by Moje Čarobne Misli d.o.o. (60 000 EUR), the feature film Striguni produced by Produkcija Živa d.o.o. (30 000 EUR), and the documentary film Srbenka produced by Restart (25 000 EUR). The listed projects received a total of 115 000 EUR, which places Croatia 12th among 31 countries participating in the MEDIA Sub-Programme. Of the so-called ‘Big Five’, France placed 13th with 110 000 EUR, while, for example, Great Britain placed 20th with 60 000 EUR in approved funding.
In this round of applications, 22 000 EUR was granted to ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival which is now the fifth Croatian festival to be awarded funds from the MEDIA Sub-Programme. Furthermore, ZagrebDoxPro received support in the category of Capacity Building/Training amounting to 24 000 EUR.
Creative Desk Europe – MEDIA Office notes that, including the most recent grants, the total amount of funds awarded to Croatian projects this year is 490 200 EUR. For more information on the results please see the attached documents.
